So here we are squabbling again
It's not who we are our ancestor's sins
We've come so far yet forget our kin
Look to the stars but never within, no
So, we're here another day
How many more, well who can say?
The thing that takes it all away is the one we never saw coming
Yet, our prejudice remains, all our pride and our disdain
And, in spite of everything, never see the error in our ways
So who really is to blame when we never feel the shame?
We made the bed and here lay
Can't see the rotting for the stains
Yet, we play our little games
And make our arguments in vain
So, for everybody's sake, here is the mirror for the frame
So, we're here another day
How many more, well who can say?
The thing that takes it all away is the one we never saw coming
Yet, our prejudice remains: thinly veiled but still retained
And we've tried to bleach the stains
But it still seeps in through our veins
