MELLOW YELLOW - Letter to Seoul Lyrics

MELLOW YELLOW - Letter to Seoul Lyrics

Take a minute to appreciate the person on the grind
2020 never gave me air to breathe in peace of mind
Every single day I be thinking about my piece in life
All of the decisions I be making sound like do or die
Take a minute to appreciate the person crucified
If I'm being honest that person we seem to humanize
Even though he way above us I can tell he care for lives
Even all the normal people yeah I'm talking you and I
Yeah I'm raised in ATL but no one really look like me
How I'm looked at differently like I come from a different sea
Yeah that's kind of true but I was born here like across the street
All the stories I could tell how people turn their heads from me
Struggles of an Asian American in America
Can't believe that to this day they asking where I'm coming from
You can call me third-culture I know that I'm one of 'em
No comparisons because I know I'm not a replica

Sending letters to my home
Sending letters to my Seoul
Sending letters fill my soul
Sending letters sounding old
All these people back home and they
Sounding like they need some help
All these people stuck home and they
Sounding like they need some thrill

Sending letters to my home
Sending letters to my Seoul
Sending letters fill my soul
Sending letters sounding old
All these people back home and they
Sounding like they need some help
All these people stuck home and they
Sounding like they need some thrill

Constant nervousness from lack of social services
Problems in Korea is more than just a service missed
Struggle with identity and finding culture spilling in
Problems fitting in is more than just a problem for a kid
Nobody care, nobody care what you want
If it is real or not
Cosmetics lot, nothing genetics is lost
Only the outside is crossed
All about the makeup and the outside not the real thing
Not the personality attracted to the fake things
Find myself, wishing for the peace and the serenity
Find myself, thinking if it's love or some amenity
Find yourself, knowing that you need some more tranquility
Find ourselves, looking for the person who's our centerpiece
Know stuff is getting tough, like the world is ending
Show up, make up sum', keep yo head up anyday
Glow up, stay on one, don't do cuz it's trending
Get tough, stay afloat, master of your ending
You don't need to rush so why you rushing into all these things
Make peace, with yourself, before you bother other things
Say that you are doing well but I can see the stress marks
Find peace, in yourself, that will make life less hard
Though I only met you for a month it's like forever
Time is passing by too quickly so your life you measure
One year, five years, whichever or however
Many years you have left, leave your mark forever

Life is getting tough, but you still got to struggle through it
What's the point of living if you don't, have another to it
When you try to do good, they all misconstrue it
When you try to live life, they all hate you for it
That's the point of living, to face the ups and downs of life
Still riding in that rollercoaster when it's not your time
Keep pursuing on, all your dreams, they will have some light
Teaching you life lessons even I need to apply them right

Life is getting tough, but you still got to struggle through it
What's the point of living if you don't, have another to it
When you try to do good, they all misconstrue it
When you try to live life, they all hate you for it
That's the point of living, to face the ups and downs of life
Still riding in that rollercoaster when it's not your time
Keep pursuing on, all your dreams, they will have some light
Teaching you life lessons even I need to apply them right
