Dull moon preside
Street lights carry through flakes
Kingdom of gloom, the night as it blooms
Embodied in bleakness, a bright orange hue
Snow falls, it blankets, unconditional and true
The night it is punishing, suffocating it looms
Great walls made of glass stretch high through the veil
Someday will return to the ground where it stares
Constructed in madness; its biting, our heir
Our legacy, a testament, to the a world that once burned
Towers of ego, mistakes never learned
A trace of an empire - sophisticated ape
Two thumbs used to pillage, upright and astute
Seas reside, return, strip the land down to roots.
Monuments to failure
Wars fought and lost
To abate the inevitable, but at what cost?
Crushing, violating
Epoch of the damned
Screams of the guilty
Pleads for forgiveness
The judgement severe
Buildings, they topple, they crumble in fear
A punishment, divine
Absurdity, can't outrun time
Flags lay dead
Command landscapes, marred
Skeleton of narcissism lifeless and scarred
Deep lie the bodies, encased in hubris
Nature, omnipotent, wipes the world of their ignorance
Their tombs mark their sloth
Suffer more
Humanity but a scar, return to creation
Mankind, pulled in with the tide rivers run brilliant and pure
Mass graves filled brim with vanity, the dirt beneath indifferent
No monument, no legacy
Abuse, insolence
A timely rapture
Skies echo with silence
A force struck out and cold
