MORRIS RANDOM POET - Florida Born Storm Lyrics

MORRIS RANDOM POET - Florida Born Storm Lyrics
Official

The rain is coming down
Like tears out of the sky
With clouds Rollin by
And a rumbling sound
Winds from the east are a blowing
And the sky is turning so dark
Gather all your fears together
And find a shelter in the park
Florida is the home for me
I will never never flee
Our roots run deep this night
All will stand tall and fight
Neither nature nor any man
Will defeat us we'll make our stand
It is our Land
A hurricane is closing in on us
If the weather man we can trust
Turning and turning with shear force
Batten down is a must
All the ships at sea will go to port
With the captain at the helm
Hatches must be locked
Boat firmly fastened to the docks
Hurricanes in the month of June
No it really is too soon
Nature cares not the date
It will be a monsoon
Florida is the home for me
I will never never flee
Our roots run deep this night
All will stand tall and fight
Neither nature nor any man
Will defeat as we make our stand
It is our Land
Water rising oh so fast
How long will it last
100 miles an hour wind begins to blast
Waters up and keeps going past storm
Children will soon be born
On a day dark and torn
With the cry for a new day
Building rumble from the gust
Teens have parties on the shore
Till their lodging is no more
And the sea breaks the door
This happens to us every year
Though the warnings are so clear
No one moves away from here
This is the place we hold dear
Florida is the home for me
I will never never flee
Our roots run deep this night
All will stand tall and fight
Neither nature nor any man
Will defeat as we make our stand
It is our Land
This is our land
(This is our Land)
This is our land
Here we stand
Here we stand
This is the end
The end
The end
The very end
We will fight
