Sweet Stanley saw the flaws in Earth
The nothingness it all was worth
Said, "Yeah, being there was all just fine
But now I'm drunk on turpentine
I drive a star across the sky
And no one ever asks me why
They sit and wonder where I've gone
They'll find the strength to carry on"
And Emma saw a highwayman
Knew how it would end before it began
Told him to hop into the car
The journey wasn't very far
And one more person in her life
It wouldn't drive her to the knife
But then she drove into the dawn
She lost the strength to carry on
And Johnny worked on all his art
Born with a hole right in his heart
And then one day he realized
That all the work that he had prized
Was really all a giant waste
And all the goals that he had chased
Were really slowly killing John
Where was the strength to carry on
Natasha felt some kind of bored
Until she fell down on her sword
She did it for the one she loved
But I guess that was not enough
Because the dirt washed her away
And nothing became of that day
But a conclusion so foregone
That no one thought to carry on
And even though they'll fade away
They'll stay with me until the day
When everything goes down to black
And then I'll be headed right back
To the place from which I came
The nothingness, the burning flame
And finally I won't be me
Or all the ones I wish I could be
