A lightning bolt of oranges
Came crashing through my honor
You'd been dreaming it forever
The day I'd die in fits of laughter
I fell apart a poet
Took my love to throw it
At any drunken wolf face I could score
A touchdown or a mystic
Whose missiles went ballistic
And pushed against the sky until it tore
Snow globe heart, I tried to bury
All the light my arms could carry
To save it up for when I'd need it
The day you'd die in blackout reading
I fell apart a marvel
But worked just like the devil
To contradict the noises in my ear
That withered all the grasses
And smashed your rosy glasses
And scorched the lip, our sunburned meadows seared
That was then, and now whenever
Oranges blow on every corner
All the mowers have their orders
To mad the dogs and stream the verses
