And when the mirror fogs up
I will go the distance
I will zoom and cry
I will take your listless
Way of being nervous
With a grain of fortune
And the wolves will come
They will eat our future
And we will walk in the chalkboard streets of salt
And the murmurs won't revise us
Where we sleep on the horizon
With a radiance so lost and dragging onward
That our spirits will be angles
And the bells will all be lions
A hum is on the water
The sky a burning powder
Big murmur roaring us to dust
As the owl collapses
I will hunt and gather
I will brick and mortar
I will hide your station
With its lights still burning
With its cool reactor
And its chimes of lightning
Heart a total wreckage
And we will wonder how the shadows' trees grew taller
And the pink moss on the face mask
Made us just a little sicker
With a video gone viral
Of a poetry chameleon
Who was lost in puffs of birds
So all the other kids were stolen
A hum is on the water
The sky is burning powder
Big murmur roaring us to dust
When you look in the weeds
For the eyes in the trees
You should know
You're never coming back
When you echo through the fog
Touch my cheek, but not for long
Because you know you're never coming back
Aim your fire at the wall
You can watch my body fall
But you know you're never coming back
I will murmur in your ear
With a roar so loud a clear
You will float as my lesson fades to black
