INTERVIEWER:
So, Peter, congratulations: a fantastic win for you. What pleased you most about that performance today?

PETER:
Look, we knew today was going to be a tough game. They gave us so many things tactically to think about, and with playing multiple games over the week we had to rotate the squad, and every single player came together today and played magnificently. They are a very physical team who also like to keep the ball and sit deep, so it was hard to break them down. The team showed great resilience and a togetherness of the team, which I thought was crucial.

INTERVIEWER:
For large portions of the game you had very little possession, but when you did have the ball you always looked dangerous. What do you put this down to?

PETER:
We ve been looking at ways to break them down, and we identified a weakness with their full backs, who like to get forward a lot, and we wanted to exploit that area. The boys on the wing got forward like we asked them, and the midfield played the balls into those areas, and that s how we got the goal in the end. They were very well organised, well-drilled team, as you would expect, but I thought we had the better quality in the final third of the pitch, and that s what paid off and got us the win.

INTERVIEWER:
It s another clean sheet, and some great saves from the goalkeeper as the pressure mounted early on in the game.

PETER:
Yes, another fabulous performance from the defence. We stayed solid and held a high line, and caught them offside quite a bit. We knew they d like to try and play a through ball with the strikers playing on the shoulder of our defenders. A couple of times we slipped up, but thankfully the goalkeeper came to the rescue and er kept us in the game. They re a team who like to start fast and try and get that early goal, and if that happens you spend a lot of the game chasing, but thankfully we held on.

INTERVIEWER:
What was your assessment of the goal?

PETER:
As I said, we ve been working on getting the ball into the channels and telling the strikers to get into the box more, as in previous games the crosses have been good, but no one in the box to convert the chance into a goal. All great goal scorers linger in the box and convert their chances, and here we have two boys who are young and hungry to score goals, and I m sure they are going to have a fantastic future here.

INTERVIEWER:
Thank you very much for your time, Peter.
