As the flowers in my room
Decompose throughout the winter
The snow piles up and the air gets thinner
I open a notebook
That I wrote some poems in last year
One had a title and that title was my dear
Sometimes my skin gets flakey
And my eyes get dry
But when I read those words
It made me want to cry
Self moisturizing tears
Roll down my face
That notebook may be gone
But those words will always stay
The roses on your floor may decompose
But my words will remain in these gutter prose
Mushrooms eat the leaves when they fall and hit the ground
But that's the beauty of Spring when life comes around
Though the wood may rot and the trees might fall
My feelings will stay the same
Let's go out meet in this blizzard
See if we feel the same way
I never showed you that poem
I was scared you might dislike it
But it's nine months later
I still really wish that I did
Things might have been different
If you had seen those words
But when you said I love you
I think that we both heard
How the roses on your floor may decompose
But my words will remain in these gutter prose
Mushrooms eat the leaves when they fall and hit the ground
But that's the beauty of Spring when life comes around
Though the wood may rot and the trees might fall
My feelings will stay the same
Let's go out meet in this blizzard
See if we feel the same way
Feel the same way
