Here is a little song that I like to sing, it's about a girl who I think about still
She lives in a little shack among the trees, I was in love with her, but she didn't love me
I bought her presents, I bought her things, an expensive dress and a diamond ring
But the girl liked to live all by herself with a fly and a spider as her pets
A wise man said love makes you blind, nobody liked her but for me she was divine
A queen of the forest, a nature girl, a goddess of green, it was always her
I heard she was a widow, her husband died, he was chopping some wood when a tree fell down
And he broke his neck, yes he broke his spine, so I thought I stood a chance to make her mine
And so I bravely asked her to marry me, I offered her happiness in the city
But she was a hard girl, like a bow you can't bend, a door you can't unlock, she just wouldn't relent
She told me that I was too busy with the things that I owned, it imprisoned me
That she was my love, I couldn't make her see, so I thought it would be best for me to flee
This was the story about the nature girl, if you walk in that forest you might meet her
She's a witch, she's a nymph, but at least she's real, if you mess with her mind you will get a raw deal
She'll see right through you, like she did with me, what you are and what you're gonna be
Take a look in her eyes and you know what I mean, there's more to this picture than what you see
