Time and space are expanding just so fast
But we're the insects that feeling so vast
As even we could spread out and reach for all that is there to gain
As everything comes from something
And something can't come out of nothing
So if resources are finite how come we think of this universe as perpetual?
Will eternal darkness wrap around us in our time of dying?
Will we be praying 'til we're rotten to gods we have already forgotten?
Have we only stayed alive to watch the final stars collide?
So as we stop hearing the sound of atoms cracking
This is when time and space come to a hold
It is the knowledge we're lacking that eternity means the world is turning cold
A single spark ignited the origin
A single spark may burn it all down again
This bitter moment when we realise our whole existence was never meant to last
Now eternal darkness wraps around us in our time of dying
When we're praying 'til we're rotten to gods we have already forgotten
So we've only stayed alive to watch the final stars collide
