She followed the bug far away from town
Each step brought her spirit further down
As she sobered up and looked around
She began to feel like the saddest of clowns
And she searched through the dark dead trees
Where strange and twisted spirits sleep
Do you hear their cries of despair?
Suffocating in the poisoned air?
She finds a grove with living trees
The very first she'd ever seen
Her hunger caused her not to think
As she ate the mushrooms that grew beneath
Eat the fruit beneath the tree
And hear the spirits cry
The secrets there that lay deep
The roots that began life
She rested there upon the roots
And lay beneath the leaves
She listened very carefully
As the tree began to speak
