I ride in this sleigh only once a year
I make all these toys to bring the kids some cheer
I've checked my list and I've checked it twice
It's time to show all who's naughty or nice
The reindeer are slated, the hoof's still on the ground
Got my thermos in hand, enough coffee to make the rounds
Missus Claus is a-waving
It's time to start the show
On Dasher and so forth, you know how it goes
I never get used to flying through the air
The winter wind burns as it whistles my hair
The sky turns to black as the North Pole fades
And Rudolph's red nose is all that remains
I've been house to house all through the night
Dodging and ducking out of everyone's sight
My sack is near empty and my blisters are torn
All this 'cause some Virgin's Son was born
I've been at it for miles underneath the starlight
Crossed all the oceans of a city so bright
I'm often caught thinking, why's it gotta be one night?
But as the wrapping's ripped open
I am healed with delight
As the wrappings rip open
I am healed with delight
