Distant foothills vibrate in alpenglow
Rhododendrons weep anticipating snow
Somewhere too near, a coyote cries
The bloodwolf rises, shaking loose of the pines
Duskborn bats begin their nightly nervous dance
With fireflies refused to flee, knowing that they can't
Westwardly begins to creep a darkness thinly veiled
The bloodwolf prowls, howls her high and lonesome wail
Howl, bloodwolf, howl.
Devour the earth,
Lap up the stars,
Leave only your moon
Howl, bloodwolf. howl.
The heavens only
Hide, bide
'til time they come for you
