Steel City
Now it's very pretty
Gone are most of the mills
So workers had to move away to pay their bills
I was born near the Allegheny River
When that river had so many mills
There were great views from rich folks' houses
Who lived up up up in the hills
They had the money
We did their jobs
It wasn't funny
Cause some us thought that we got robbed
And those folks loved their museums
Generous patrons of the arts
But we loved the Pittsburgh Steelers
And Franco Harris was our superstar
And we loved Jeff Goldblum
As quirky as he was
But that's the steel city
Where quirky still gets most of the buzz
Steel City
Now it's very pretty
Gone are most of the mills
So workers had to move away to pay their bills
But don't cry for my sweet town
Pittsburgh did not really stay down
So many of us heard its 3 rivers' call
We came back home
