My old heart
Can't keep up with me
I put it through its paces
Til I can hardly breathe
My body will give out on me, of this I'm sure
Seems as if every little thing shakes me to the core
My mind is strong when nothing else is
Such a frustration, I'd love to forbid
These old lungs
They've done well for me
Got me through elevations
Of which I could never dream
But even them, I can tell
They're starting to falter
These are things I thought to be stable as a rock
My body will give out on me, of this I'm sure
Seems as if every little thing shakes me to the core
My mind is strong when nothing else is
Such a frustration, I'd love to forbid
