The God I believe in
Probably isn't yours
'Cause mine
She actually cares
She doesn't hold grudges
And she doesn't forget
She only forgives
The innocent
I will not repent
For the life that I live
'Cause my life's not a sin
The Bible ain't the word of God
It's the word of men
That think they know better
A life full of hatred is no life at all
It's just suffering on a pedestal
I'd like to get married
But your god says "no"
And somehow your god
Is caring?
I have an ex-boyfriend
He was kind and sweet
But your god toom him away from me
And now he worships a felon online
And likes posts about Project '25
And doesn't regret a thing he said
And your god put those ideas in his head
If it wasn't for your god he'd still be mine
Instead of spending all of his time
With hatred he never used to hold
But your faith made him so cold
I can hurt
I can bleed
I can scream
But your god will always scream
Louder than me
I can hurt
I can scream
I can cry
But your needs will always
Be met before mine
First, you hated black people, then you hated Jews
Now, you're hating everybody
So the question is
When the only people left are you
Will you hate yourself?
Power concedes nothing
This house is for the people, by the people
To serve the people
And you won't listen
You go after everybody's kids but your own
You make hate
The way to go as long as it's not applied to you
You have to ask yourself the question
Why would they be doing that?
