Sandy Rapp - The March Lyrics

Sandy Rapp - The March Lyrics

The March (Marchin' With Molly Yard) © Sandy Rapp 1992
I had the strangest sleep visions that would not keep
Showed me a band of stalwart commanders made.
They strode on a one-way track, and knew they would not go back.
Such was the theme of this libertine parade.

Ellie was in the lead she rode on a purple steed.
Whoopi was there with dreads in her hair and flags.
Patricia was in command, so matters were well in hand.
Betty Friedan advanced with a big brass band.

O'er the lawn came Sonia Johnson

Chorus:
And we were Marchin' with Molly Yard over the hills we trod.
NOW is a voice that's shouting for choice we are:
Red, White, and Lavender, and Black and we will not go back.
Ever and onward, Marchin' with Molly Yard.

Faye Wattleton and Kim Gandy joined
Joined Terry O'Neill on C-SPAN and

We marched to the clinic at dawn but the men of god were gone,
Though we searched high and low from Kansas to Buffalo.
They'd vanished in Wichita, and were said to have fled to Oz,
Where the little lost lambs all ran down the Yellow Brick Road.

(repeat chorus

We sang for Rose and Becky Bell
And George R. Tiller and Clara Duvall and

After THE MARCH was through A spaceship came into view.
Banners a-hoist and flashing for choice they flew.
And what was this airborne team, this U-FO that would be free?
Galaxies For Choice were beaming for liberty
