Shawn Mendes - Shawn Album Lyrics

Shawn Mendes - Shawn Lyrics

Who I Am

Got a little talk in the pavement door
Sorry, I gotta do it, gotta let you down
Everything's hard to be seen in her life

Sorry, I gotta do it, gotta let you down
'Cause I told everyone who I am right now
No, I don't really know who I am right now

I feel questioned from the people that I love anyways
But I know I gotta do it, gotta do it like this
I'm losing myself tryna make you proud

Sorry, I gotta do it, gotta let you down
'Cause I don't really know who I am right now
No, I don't really know who I am right now

Broke my heart in pieces for you
Hurt my soul and head going back and forth
I don't know how I gotta fix it now

Sorry, I gotta do it, gotta let you down
'Cause I don't really know who I am right now
No, I don't understand who I am right now
So I bought a new vase in an old man's home
No, I don't really know who I am right now

Why Why Why

Opened up my journal to a page
Everything that hurts me's still the same
Feels like there's nothing new for me to say
Why, why, why?
Why, why, why?

Sweating through the sheets, shakin' in bed
Visions of her naked in my head
But I went off and chose myself instead
Why, why, why?

Ease my mind

I don't know why
I-, I don't know, I don't know why
Why, why, why?

I stepped off the stage with nothing left
All the lights were f*ckin' with my head
But here I am, singing songs again
Why, why, why?

Ease my mind

I don't know why
I-, I don't know, I don't know why
Why, why, why?
Why, why, why?

Feels like everything goes round and round and round and round and round it goes
Feels like everything goes round and round and round and round and round it

Thought I was about to be a father
Shook me to the core, I'm still a kid
Sometimes I still cry out for my mother
Why, why, why?
Why, why, why?

I don't know why
I-, I don't know, I don't know why
Why, why, why?
Why, why, why?

Feels like everything goes round and round and round and round and round it goes
Feels like everything goes round and round and round and round and round it goes

That's the Dream

It's been this way since seventeen
The highs and lows and in betweens, my love, mm
We said forever ever since we give a lot
But do we give enough?

I know we made our promises, but promises are hard to keep
I don't know if it's meant to be
But ooh-ooh-ooh, that's the dream

Got this wedding in a week
Can't believe you won't be there with me, my love, mm
I know that space is supposed to help
But I feel like a shadow of myself

I know we made our promises, but promises are hard to keep
I don't know if it's meant to be
But ooh-ooh-ooh, that's the dream

That's the dream

Ah-ah-ah-ah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

I know we made our promises, but promises are hard to keep
But why'd I have to go and leave when I know nothing good comes easily?
I don't know if it's meant to be
But ooh-ooh-ooh, that's the dream

Ooh-ooh-ooh, that's the dream
Ooh-ooh-ooh, that's the dream

Nobody Knows

When your touch walks me home
When you taste this good
When the glitter is gold
And it feels like it should

When you're so in love
And your souls touch
But it's still not enough
Where does it go? (Whoa)
Where does it go?
Nobody knows (nobody, nobody)
Where the love goes

You're an amateur drunk and everyone knows it
But, f*ck, you're the one and I live for those moments (hm, whoa)
When the bottle is open, anything can happen
Flyin' too close to the sun

When you're so in love (oh, when you're so in love)
And your souls touch
But it's still not enough
Where does it go? (Whoa, hey)
Where does it go?
Nobody knows (hey, nobody)
Where the love goes

Isn't That Enough

Sweet is the sun
Warm is the rain
June is the month
Free is the day

My hands still shakin'
My mind's still racin'
My heart's still breakin' in two
I'm still changin'
My friends stay patient
My mother still calls for the news

Isn't that enough?
Isn't that enough?
Isn't that enough?

Gone are the birds
Close are the tears
A house full of love
Space for your fears

My hands still shakin'
My mind's still racin'
My heart's still breakin' in two
I'm still changin'
My friends stay patient
My mother still calls for the news

Isn't that enough?
Isn't that enough?
Isn't that enough?

Heart of Gold

(Ooh)

Honestly
It's been a while since I thought of you
In the end, we didn't talk much
I didn't know what you were goin' through
I'm sorry that I wasn't there
To hug your mama at the funeral
Brian said he broke down
But he promised it was beautiful

When we were young
We didn't care
We shot for the stars
I'll see you up there

You had a heart of gold (yeah)
You had a heart of gold
You left too soon, it was out of your control
Underneath your skin and bone
You had a heart of gold

I didn't cry
I didn't even feel the pain
And then it hit me all at once
When we talked about you yesterday

When we were young (when we were young)
We didn't care (we didn't care)
We shot for the stars (we shot for the stars)
I'll see you up there

You had a heart of gold (yeah)
You had a heart of gold
You left too soon, it was out of your control
Underneath your skin and bone
You had a heart of gold

When we were young
We didn't care
We shot for the stars
I'll see you up there (you had a heart of gold)
When we were young (ooh)
We didn't care (we didn't care)
We shot for the stars
I'll see you up there
You had a heart of gold
(Yeah)

Heavy

It's been so heavy, it's been so long
Runnin' from everything and nothin' at all
You've been rock steady tryna help me through
Now I'm finally ready to let you

I'm tired of all the nights awake
Carrying this weight
It's been so heavy

I've been so lonely, runnin' from home
I've been on my own now, for way too long
You've been tryna talk to me, to give me the truth
Now I'm finally ready to let you (mm)

I'm tired of all these nights awake
Carrying this weight

It's been so heavy, it's been so long
Runnin' from everything and nothin' at all
You've been rock steady tryna help me through (tryna help, tryna help)
Now I'm finally ready to let you

Ooh (ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh)
To let you, oh (ooh-ooh)
(Ooh-ooh)

It's been so heavy, it's been so long
Runnin' from everything and nothin' at all

That'll Be the Day

You could move away, you could build a home
With somebody I don't know, doesn't matter what you say
It's not ever gonna change, you can fight the truth
'Til your face turns blue, this love is here to stay

But there will be a day when I don't hear a sound
I'll be six feet underground and that'll be the day I lose you

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
That'll be the day I lose you
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
That'll be the day

I could pretend that I have a chance
At another romance, but, honey, in the end
Even if I tried, I'll be wasting breath
I'll be faking sex 'cause you'll be on my mind

But there will be a day when I don't hear a sound
I'll be six feet underground and that'll be the day I lose you

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh
That'll be the day I lose you, mm-mm
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

Will you come over tonight? We can swallow our pride
We can swallow some wine
'Cause there will be a day I lose you

In Between

If I'm not all in, then I'm all out
And it's never gonna happen if it doesn't right now
If it doesn't end with a ring, is it just sex?
If it isn't black and white, then it's onto the next

But what about the in-betweens?
You layin' your head on me
Livin' for the next time that we touch
Isn't that enough? Mm

You were saying, "Guess I'll see you never," with tears in your eyes
It's so like you to get clever when you don't wanna cry
The way you hold a pen could make me fall in love
But I'm not there yet, so to you, it doesn't mean too much

What about the in-betweens?
You layin' your head on me
Havin' someone close to you, you trust
Isn't that enough? Mm

Isn't that enough?
Isn't that enough?
Isn't that enough? (Ooh)

If I call tonight, will you pick up?
'Cause you're on my mind, isn't that enough?

The Mountain

I took a trip to the mountain
I took a trip to the sea
I took a sip from the fountain
I took a pill to be free

And you can say it was drugs
You can say it was God
You can say it was aliens
You can say I've lost the plot

You can say I'm a dreamer
You can say I'm too far gone
But I saw something out there
So call it what you want, mm

I spent a week in the jungle
Swore I came out a new man
Back to LA, I was humbled
Turns out I don't understand

You can say it's love
You can say it's a cult
You can always blame the woman
It's gotta be her fault

You can say I'm a dreamer
You can say I'm too far gone
But I feel something different
So call it what you want, oh
Call it what you want

Some days I take things way too far
Some days I have a change of heart
So say what you need to say

You can say I'm too young
You can say I'm too old
You can say I like girls or boys
Whatever fits your mold

You can say I'm a dreamer
You can say I'm too far gone
But I've never been better
So call it what you want

Rollin' Right Along

Rollin', rollin' right along
I'm rollin', rollin', rollin' right along
Doesn't matter if I'm right
Or of I'm wrong
I'm rollin' right along

I was tryna grow up way too fast
When time's the only thing I can't get back
I'm strapped in for the ride
And life goes
Rollin' right along

Might lose my way
Gone, gone, gone
But I'm gonna stay
Rollin' right along

Two years since I held my baby tight
Love, my heart can break and that that's alright
'Cause you're not the only one
Just movin' on
I'm rollin' right along

Might lose my way
Gone, gone, gone
But I'm gonna stay
Rollin' right along

Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh
Rollin' right along

Rollin', rollin' right along
Rollin', rollin' right along
Sometimes there's nothing left to say
Rollin' right along
Rollin' right along
Rollin' right along
Rollin' right along

Hallelujah

[ Originally by Leonard Cohen ]

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do ya?
Well, it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to the kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, mm

Well, maybe there's a God above
That's for me all I've ever leant from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
But it's not a crime that you're here tonight
It's not some pilgrim who claims to have seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
(Hallelujah, hallelujah)
(Hallelujah, hallelujah)
(Hallelujah, hallelujah)
(Hallelujah) yeah
Hallelujah
