Skip - Apathy Lyrics

Time stopped as if the earth stood still
I saw that life needed my help yet i lost my will
I killed millions
Men, women and children
I cared for
Guess i chose a life i wasn't much prepared for
I gave em info, vital to the survival of my kinfolk
I misspoke, sodium pentothal hijacked my pen stroke
The list i wrote went like this
Names, dates and places
Time, sites and locations
Hobbies and occupations
I denied them, or tried to
I really did
Yet in the end, led them right back to where you lived
And yes your ghost still haunts me
I hope you can forgive me
In the end it cost me
Way more than i could possibly give
And somehow philosophies switched and rearranged
And i became all the hypocrisy i ceased to face
So when the going got tough
I let go
Just one man against a world that's too big to overthrow

I'd stand
But it seems i've got not nothing left in which to wish you
Care? but how now it hit you
Waiting 'til someone fix you
Oh well
I'd stand
But it seems i've got not nothing left in which to wish you
Dare, but how now convinced you
So numb now no one gets you
Oh well

Time is up
Almost there
No one sees
No one cares
Where we are?
Headed nowhere
Waiting for a superman
But where'd he go?
I don't try to start no problems
What can i do after all?
Instead i'm gonna stand and watch it fall on me

Someone help me see past what everybody claims to be the truth
Of a choice i don't yet understand
But already made
Weighted consequence
More than just a man
More than words i wrote
More than just a song
More than fitting in hoping i'd belong
Wrong or right but not quite the same thing
Maybe we're stuck in the same dream
