Skip - Growing Pains Lyrics

Thought i was 25
Found i was rather 26 and change
It's funny how your life flips round i heard they call that growing pains
And in this day and age you can expect a lot don't stay the same
Even paying rent becomes a catalyst to go insane
And where we came from
Some don't even recall their breath to take one
Even atheists begun to pray some
While some still play dumb
The rest all stay numb
We're trying to grow into our skin
Christians wait for the end
While i wait for my begin
I play pretend up in the mean time
A scheme when you pay for free time
Some me time
Or before it's killing spree time
Like grand theft auto three
When the only thing you see, it's gone too far
Need a up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, a, b, select, restart
And the part in which i play today no way it'll stay the same tomorrow
Pain and sorrow
Need a window stain or circled drain to follow
Fame is hollow
And though i would like some cash flow
I killed my credit cards
I guess they didn't get the memo
It read "asshole, dear mister"

And now it's constant
Cutting away myself to fit a concept
The only cost is what you ask for minus what isn't lost yet
What it was is offset by what was promised to be the best part
They say too much change at once can leave you stretch marks
Now i'm confused
The tighter my fist clenched the more i'd lose
Like time slips through fingers no one remembers the next move
One would assume it's freestyle the way his hands don't ever move
So many chances to advance yet felt i had nothing to prove
Also nothing to lose
But far be it for me to be the bearer of bad news
And who knew the grand scheme of thing
I think the king of kings is probably
Just the man up in the cardboard box that we all avoid on most evenings
We make our own beds, graves and saviors
And sign our lives back with I.O.U.s and see you laters
We're all in this together and i hope that we can change
Dear mister, asshole

I've been dreaming of the past
Asked now and then what i love
That's life, that's right!
Even now and then what we got's not enough to pay rent
Get depressed start wondering where it all went
It seems silly
For some life is too pretty
Got to have war for some to keep living
Just like that some we were taught to hide feelings
Tie yellow ribbons
Ought to stop killing
Checked!
Ballot slip
Not living
Bound to get
It sounds the same as marching out of sync
Destiny
Battle drum deafening
While
Defeat's too real when too fearful to speak
The meek are discarded, regarded as weak
Reap what we sow
Know what come's next
Choose to give up
Got no choice left
Time's up!
Time's up!
