LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW
Looking out my window
Sunset glare
Disappearing halo
Empty stare
I need some piece of mind
It's hard to find
Aimless days, funny how they drift away
In another time
I might change my mind
If this heavy heart could drop me back to the start
I could curl up instead
Put these thoughts to bed
And I'd wake up with nighttime rushing in
There's a flower that blooms by the light of the moon
After midnight, if you come calling
I'll be out tending my garden
Looking out my window
Morning dew
Cracks in the shadows
Empty room
I feel an ache inside
A strange divide
Heavy hearts are always bound to split apart
If I could turn around
Be lost then found
I could close the blinds, pull the curtains from the sides
And bid the days adieu
Let the nighttime through
And forget what the wise ones were telling you
There's a flower that blooms by the light of the moon
After midnight, if you come calling
I'll be out tending my garden
Looking out my window
Looking out my window
Looking out my window
