I Hear Leesha Video (MV)

Smith Michael W - I Hear Leesha Lyrics

I Hear Leesha
by Michael W. Smith & Wayne Kirkpatrick
on i 2 (EYE) (1988)

Seems like it was only yesterday
She was living here
Yea, she was living here
Lord knows why He's taken her away
It isn't very clear, no it isn't very clear
Into every life a little rain must fall
And losing one you love is like a storm
But storms are passing

Chorus:
I hear Leesha
Singing in heaven tonight
And in between the sadness
I hear Leesha
Telling me that she's alright

Life goes on even after life
That's what I believe
Yea, that's what I believe
Leesha's gone, but she will still survive
In a memory that I'm keeping here with me
Silencing the voice of mortal tradgedy
Listening to whispers of the soul
All is peaceful

Chorus

(Ed: Leesha was a girl who lived just miles from MWS's house in Nashville,
Tennessee. I'm not sure, but I THINK she went to the same church as he
does... Anyways she got hit by a car as I remember reading it.)

From Album slip
Leesha Heaston 1972-1988

"Her parents named her Leesha, but God named her 'Joy', and a joy she was
to all who knew her. Despite her trials, she spread the light of joy and
the smile of kindness wherever she went. Though she never made a B on a
report card, the most meaningful challenge she leaves is a legacy of love.
She had the gift, and cherished it faithfully, of loving loyally, widely,
and well. My sister was the best friend I ever had. She was a real person
who laughed and cried and loved and even failed sometimes. I miss her
deeply, but when I close my eyes I can hear her laughing." Heather Heaston
