It's easy to think yourself as invincible
Easier yet to be reminded you're not
To have the rug pulled from beneath
Catch yourself as you clinch your teeth
Gone are the days that we made memories
The birds have halted their original tune
The light is snuffed with a thousand reserved breaths
As we stand around and watch its pathetic death
Sometimes I wonder
If you'll only understand
When I'm six feet under
And I'm buried in the sand
Explain to me how I could feel this way
When nothing ever's made me feel the same
And when I thought that I had seen it all
You pulled the rug and you let me fall
