Detroit-based duo Snow Strippers produce an intense, bleary fusion of electropop and EDM, incorporating elements of witch house, electroclash, trance, and hardstyle.
Tatiana Schwaninger and Graham Perez met in Clearwater, Florida in 2018. The two relocated to Los Angeles before moving to Detroit in 2020. Perez (known as DeliverTheCrush) was active as a hip-hop producer, making beats for rappers like Adamn Killa and Joeyy, while Schwaninger had no previous musical experience before the two formed Snow Strippers in 2021.
They founded a label called Nice Bass Bro and released their first single, "Keep Holding On," at the end of 2021. They continued frequently issuing singles, and their first EP, April Mixtape, appeared in April of 2022. The Snow Strippers, a 20-track album featuring all their previous singles, was released in June, and April Mixtape 2, a full-length of original material, followed in September.
These releases and the duo's live performances attracted an enormous buzz, and Snow Strippers signed to Surf Gang Records in 2023.
April Mixtape 3 arrived in May, with Lil Uzi Vert guesting on the final track "It's a Dream." Snow Strippers were featured on "Fire Alarm" from Uzi Vert's Billboard 200 chart-topping Pink Tape. The EP Night Killaz, Vol. 1 appeared in November, with Vol. 2 following in May of 2024.
