Southside Willy - Okay Lyrics

Southside Willy - Okay Lyrics

I just won five pound On a scratch card
No, It's not a big win, but it's a start.
Took the top layer off a Wagon wheel
Biscuit intact, found cash in the car.
Ran a race at the old folks place
Pretty chuffed for once because I didn't come last.
Then I went Maccy D's and I got what I asked for
Another day I didn't follow through on a fart.
I got a laugh from the Mrs, one time
Told a joke, didn't stutter on the punchline.
Freezer broke, now the kitchen's flooded
Chicken's defrosted, there's always an upside.
Had a curry the buds on my tongue liked
But this morning it's more sore bum time.
A metaphor for the state of my love life?
Nah, just caused by the sauce on the rice.

It's not bad
It's not great
It could be better but it's okay
I'm not sad
I'm not ecstatic
In the grand scheme of things I'm okay
I'm alright, yeah, there's room for improvement, sure
But I'm busy getting on with my day
I'm okay

Costs are rising and my pay pack isn't
But the clubcard points saving money on my dinner.
I load the paper and I top the ink up
It worked first time when I sent to the printer.
As a young'n I felt so different
Imagine my surprise when my junk got bigger.
Found a gift voucher birthday present
Thought I'd spent it but I didn't.
You see this tshirt? Charity shop
Seen my snap back? It's Vinted.
Posh shop fools getting happily robbed
I got cheap designer looking minted.
Had a party, called it a shindig
Got dressed up, put on some lipstick.
New car's got parking sensors
My favourite of multiple perks it's equipped with.

It's not bad
It's not great
It could be better but it's okay
I'm not sad
I'm not ecstatic
In the grand scheme of things I'm okay
I'm alright, yeah, there's room for improvement, sure
But I'm busy getting on with my day
I'm okay
