StankNasty - Trauma Lyrics
Official

Only a matter of time before you're hit with trauma
Struggle to stay in the light, but you're haunted by trauma
Darkness is always there, so you grow used to trauma
It drains you, it pains you, it stains you, the toll of trauma... trauma
It was January 2016
I remember the air was crispy and pristine
The summer bees took a knee to let the f*ckin' blizzards sting
Drivin' back from my rotation, bumping Nas and contemplatin'
Catchin' Zs I could use some peace and isolation
My sister called and she was cryin' in hysterics
Eddie tried to kill himself, I couldn't bear it
Tried to speak, but I couldn't, believe my ears, but I wouldn't
My entire world became fragile and shooken
The straight lines in the picture of life became crooked
I couldn't even imagine how his family took it
This is that chapter in the book that you don't wanna look in
You're gonna have to face the rain and brace yourself
It's times like these that force feed you a painful taste of hell
It's the kind of thing that contorts you into a tangled hollow shell
The throb of the knot in my throat is starting to swell
Suicide is a concept that don't seem to sit well
Please lend your ears to this true story that I tell
Maybe you gonna learn something to save someone else
Don't ever be ashamed to go out and get some help
I know because I've struggled for years
And I've gotten treatment myself
It's important that we care for our mental health
Rest in peace to Eddie and our lost loved ones who live on
Through the memories of the pictures on our shelves
Only a matter of time before you're hit with trauma
Struggle to stay in the light, but you're haunted by trauma
Darkness is always there, so you grow used to trauma
It drains you, it pains you, it stains you, the toll of trauma... trauma
One Facebook post
I should have taken note
I should have listened to that gut feeling
That you get and you can't put your finger on, but you just f*ckin' know
Eddie, I'm so sorry I didn't call you on the phone
I should have known I should have thought back to those things you told
In confidence, our bond became stronger than a heart of gold
You told me you were going to therapy
For depression
I go for OCD, anxiety, I'm always stressin'
I told you all about destroying the perception
That meds don't do nothin' to help the symptoms burden lessen
But that's a f*ckin fallacy now everybody listen
Eddie fought as hard as he could with a sickness
Why the hell would someone choose to have such an affliction
And this includes anyone who's coping with addiction
These are real f*ckin conditions
Since I was ten years old, this the shit I've lived with
When I go to work to heal the hurt, it's the worst I witness
Please lend your ears to this true story that I tell
Maybe you gon learn something to save someone else
Don't ever be ashamed to go out and get some help
I know because I've struggled for years
And I've gotten treatment myself
