I board my flight at Gatwick
I binge watch Meryl Streep
I stuff my face with crisps and fizz
Can't give a thought to sleep
And sometime six hours later
I land at JFK
My first few steps in a brand new place
I get totally lost on the subway
Every sight that I see is great
Got to capture everything
Stand right there
Hold that pose, just wait
'Cause they won't believe I'm here
We take a flight to Vegas
In January it's still hot
So I spend my time in t-shirt and shorts
Wandering about the backlots
I don't know how to play blackjack
I've got no money for booze
And everyone's advertising prostitutes
That I'm never gonna use
You're tired all the time
You're back from work late
And lying in bed hours ticking by
Could this be less like a date
I really want to kiss you
I'm not sure I'm allowed
'Cause I don't know the laws in Nevada
I know I should be trying harder
But it's like you don't want to be seen
I think I might be falling fast
But I don't know what you want
The next stop off is Austin
I make friends with his dog
I'm violently ill with jetlag
And I stop him updating his work log
He takes me out for pancakes
Just to show off his brand new truck
We go for a walk in a muddy creek
I get my brand new trainers stuck
All those times I catch his eye
And he flashes me that grin
I feel high, he might be the guy
I don't care how short it's been
Oh
The holiday of a lifetime
The holiday of a lifetime
The holiday of a lifetime
The holiday of a lifetime
The holiday of a lifetime
