Jimmy was a preacher's son raised in Baton Rouge
He grew up on the gospel yet he couldn't tell the truth
He thought life was better if you take and never give
He bent the ten commandments 'til they fit the way he lived
He traveled around the country always running a scam
Based on the bible and the blood of the lamb
He learned as just a boy how people feared for their soul
He learned how to turn the people's fear into gold
But Jimmy never met up with the Lord face to face
He'd never felt the touch of his might saving grace
One night in West Virginia he knew beyond a doubt
He felt the might hands of God his father preached about
A young girl by the platform reached up for Jimmy's hands
And said I'm blind but you can give me sight I understand
Went into his same old act, he cried, begged and prayed
Not dreaming that a miracle was really on its way
Then a fiery shock went through his hands he never felt before
So strong that both Jimmy and the girl fell to the floor
She came up screaming thank God I see again
While Jimmy cried there on his knees confessing all his sins
But Jimmy never met up with the Lord face to face
He never felt the touch of his might saving grace
One night in West Virginia he knew beyond a doubt
He felt the might hands of God his father preached about
But Jimmy felt the mighty hand of God his father preached about"
