Validation
Little girl felt that she needed validation
Growing up she thought she needed it to be loved
So she'd change her hair and start wearing makeup
Then came the compliments, and came the interest, She'd see a flaw and, she'd want to fix it
But with the confidence, came insecurity
So all the self love just took a back seat
But I don't want to ask you how feel about my make up
Don't want to think 'bout how I'm looking when I wake up
Don't want to worry 'bout my self my hair and all the fake stuff
So will you still love me when I'm naked (naked)
Tell me if you'll love me when I let my hair down
And will you still love me when I take it all out (yeah)
Tell me if you love me when I let my hair down
And will you still love it when I take it all out
Gratification
Coming into my own me gave me some satisfaction
But there are dudes out there that are yet to catch up
Only want the image don't want natural
I see the difference, in how i'm treated
When i wear braids or my hairs been treated
I'm still the same when I make some changes
But they don't act like it and that's a shame man
But I don't want to ask you how feel about my make up
Don't want to think 'bout how I'm looking when I wake up
Don't want to worry 'bout my self my hair and all the fake stuff
So will you still love me when I'm naked (naked)
Tell me if you'll love me when I let my hair down
And will you still love me when I take it all out (yeah)
Tell me if you love me when I let my hair down
And will you still love it when I take it all out
Cause I still me when I take off my makeup
And I still love me when i take off the fake stuff
Who cares bout clothes and hair and getting wasted
Coz I'll still love when you're gone and I am naked
