When I was a kid, thought life was child's play
Mind's safe, living in my own world of high stakes
Times change, now I'm scratching thoughts on to this white page
Sheets of emptiness, all on the floor, it's like my mind state
Blank (yeah), I've been cooking bars that are so dark, wait
Burnt to crisp, like toast out the oven, perfect, my taste
Is mind-provokingly a questionable sense of tirades
These hoops and hurdles that I jump through, it's like a mime cage
Can't see the walls, I'm stuck inside a room filled with my expectations
Affirmations? Never heard of that, foreign text, explanation
I been looking in the f*cking mirror, seeing disappointment
Written on my face like it's a banner, got no inclination
Wake up in the morning, head is heavy but my body's light
My mind tells me stay on the ground, can't feel my legs, just float and rise
To climb these ladders, step by step, they say that one rung at a time
But I'm too busy crawling along these walls like parkour, spider, wait
Oh, look, I've been on a rant when I talk to myself, the room I command
The proof's in the pudding, deserted and trapped
Unearthing the thoughts that I buried in the sand
Pit, falls that I took, had their feet on my back
Been fighting alone, never heard of a pack
Lone wolf in the sheep herd, with a bagpack
Full of maps to the paths that his mind couldn't track
Had to step to the platform, rise to the task
Grow up at 11, start to wear his own mask
Keep up the façade of being all grown
To keep the inner child away from the dark
But what do you do when the light is a spark
In a room full of horrors, with his eyes on the mark
With the hands of his nightmares pulling him backwards
Never hear cries, no one hears him talk
You think that I'm joking, see me wearing smiles on my face
I been hoping someone takes these burdens off of my plate
You think life is breezy? Wear my shoes and walk a mile, ay
Feel the cement sinking, that's how I feel, call it child's play
Woah, yeah, child's play
I just call it child's play
You think that I'm joking, wear my shoes and walk a mile ay
Yeah, yeah, child's play
I just call it child's play
You think that I'm joking, grab your toys and call it child's play!
Child's play, far away
My memories in a different place
Times change, I remain
The kid who never grew up aged
I weighed, all my scales
To balance out my mental pain
High stakes, now I pray
To wake up to a better day
I've been looking forward, see me question all my paranoia
I've been turning corners, finding answers to all of my trauma
How is it that I'm mature, but a man who is like twice my age
Is throwing out more tantrums than a baby, is that just so normal?
Gotta wear a face if I'm out and about
With a mind full of doubts and heart with no house
A surprise in the guise of a baleful mouth
That I tout like a weapon when shit goes south
No matter what I do, I'm never enough
The kid in me is a demon, unloved
I'm torn between cutting myself slack
And holding on to the bridges that I burned to dust
Did I grow up too fast? Aging twice in a day
Will I ever get a chance, live my childhood, bane
Of a life unfulfilled, living every second
Like it's my last, what prideful shame
It's a curse, it's a blessing, it's a boon worth regretting
Was a fool with the way that I cooped up, baring
My heart to these pages, now I'm in four walls
Surrounded by torment, a beautiful ending
You think that I'm joking, see me wearing smiles on my face
I been hoping someone takes these burdens off of my plate
You think life is breezy? Wear my shoes and walk a mile, ay
Feel the cement sinking, that's how I feel, call it child's play
Woah, yeah, child's play
I just call it child's play
You think that I'm joking, wear my shoes and walk a mile ay
Yeah, yeah, child's play
I just call it child's play
You think that I'm joking, grab your toys and call it child's play!
