I call my momma almost every single day
Cause when I don't take her advice
It tends to lead me astray
Especially when it's bad
Uncharacteristically me
It doesn't matter what I've done
There for me she'll always be
And I know just what she'll say
That she loves me anyway
My momma taught me
That there are things you shouldn't say
Sometimes it's better
Not to hurt unnecessarily
But I did it anyway
Despite the consequences I knew I would pay
And it haunts me to this very day
I shoulda listened to mom's honesty
Only a mother with her love for her child
Woulda said what she had to say
Now I follow her advice wholeheartedly
So I call my momma each and every single day
So that I know how to avoid future catastrophe
And I know just what she'll say
She loves me unconditionally
