Alex "$werve" Shickle, better known by his stage name as $WERVE!, is a producer of phonk music, more precisely House Phonk, from Hounslow, London.
He is best known for his singles: CITY LIGHT$, BALADINHA SINISTRA, dawning, and others. He is a part of many collectives focusing on phonk. The collectives he works with are, respectively: Deception Records, Badtrip Music, Phonk Division, Arcane Records, Cowbell Cult, Cowbell Youth and Team Dizzy.
When he was 8 years old, he made lo-fi beats for fun on his phone. 5 years later, he started producing seriously, beginning the $WERVE! project on February 27, 2021, in a discord voice channel in the Cynicamane discord server, being taught the basics of producing by 'SILVAROUNDS'.
A month later he released his first song to major streaming platforms which became a viral amongst phonk fans. The following songs were not as successful as the first one, but they did enjoy some recognition despite everything. His musical style resembles house, sometimes aggressive, sometimes more layed back.
